Harry Reid really did grave harm to the country when he nuked the filibuster in some appointments. We got good judges out of it, but it set the stage for Schumer to use a false majority to do away with the filibuster entirely. Paired with the House rule change on amendments that the Democrats passed unanimously, and the minority’s voice is muted now. Millions of Americans who already distrust the election will become more and more alienated from Washington, which will feel like it’s dominated by a hostile power.
If the country is truly broken, which we’ll find out shortly, Harry Reid set it in motion.
