Arizona-Style Election Audit Needed in Nevada: GOP Chairman

Arizona-Style Election Audit Needed in Nevada: GOP
Chairman 1

Shortly after checking out Arizona’s Maricopa County election audit, Nevada Republican Party Chairman Michael McDonald said that similar actions need to be taken in Nevada.

“Hats off to the leadership here in Arizona … I think that sets the model, that sets the tone for Nevada,” Republican Chairman Michael McDonald said in an interview posted to Twitter when discussing audit efforts in Maricopa. “We want to duplicate that in Nevada.”

This past April a private company started an audit on all 2.1 million ballots cast in Maricopa County. The audit was approved by Arizona’s Republican majority senate and does not at all burden the taxpayer.

McDonald indicated that he believes Arizona’s audit is following the proper security and measures needed to run it properly.

“We want to be able to say the same thing in Nevada: That we looked at all the problems we had, all the anomalies that took place, to make sure that it was a clean and fair election,” McDonald said. “Because it wasn’t.”

The Nevada GOP chairman also stressed that Nevada’s Clark County especially needs auditing.

McDonald and many others have been very suspicious of conduct by election officials in the state of Nevada during the 2020 election, with court documents proving that nearly 4,000 noncitizens had officially cast ballots, and an even greater number registered to vote. Joe Biden was officially certified winner of the state with a lead of just under 3%.

Nevada Democrat Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the state Republican Party and McDonald “are delusional” for wanting an audit of the state’s election results.

“The Nevada Senate isn’t going to waste any time or taxpayer money entertaining their unhinged conspiracy theories,” she said.

As far as the Maricopa County audit goes, officials indicated last week that it is projected to end on June 26th, about two months after its start. A final report on the audit is slated to be released this August.
