Joe Biden has cancelled his planned trip to Michigan today, ahead of anti-COVID lockdown demonstrations, claiming the decision was made due to weather reports suggesting that DC would receive 1 to 4 inches of snow. After Biden stopped working, calling an early “lid” at 8 a.m. this morning, it was announced that Vice President Kamala Harris will conduct in-person events instead.
Biden was scheduled to fly to Portage, Michigan today to tour a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine manufacturing facility, but that trip has been postponed, with the President blaming poor weather as the excuse to stop working at 8 a.m.
The trip was cancelled before Washington had experienced any precipitation. It is also worth noting that Portage, Michigan has not experienced any snow this morning, despite temperatures plunging as low as 16 degrees Fahrenheit.
When a “lid” is called by the White House, it means that there are no in-person scheduled events for reporters. Instead, news briefings with White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki will be done over the phone today.
While Biden has cancelled all of his in-person events for the day, Harris has not. At 11:15 a.m. she hosted an event at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building near the White House.
National File has reached out to Adam Boyd, a representative of the Michigan organization known as Us Against Media, who planned to protest Biden’s brief appearance in their state. When asked about Biden’s trip cancellation, Boyd had this to say:
Sleepy Joe Biden is now using negligent amounts of snowfall as an excuse to not show up at Pfizer in Portage. Funny how he’s so concerned about himself, when there are no storms in DC or Portage today. He lets millions of Texans freeze in their homes without running water and electricity, completely ignoring them and their cries for help. Instead, he uses the crisis as an opportunity to push for more climate change regulations that will destroy the US economy and are partly to blame for the rolling blackouts. We have seen next to no snow in Portage over the last two days. The roads are clear.
US Against Media suspects that Biden cancelled his planned Michigan trip upon the revelation that peaceful demonstrations against his policies would have ensued upon his arrival.
Did they change plans last minute when they found out peaceful protesters were coming out to make their voices heard? When a group organizer called Pfizer to see what would be the best area, they sounded very surprised to hear that anyone was going to show up. Within hours, we got the news that the event was delayed until Friday. Our peaceful protest has subsequently been rescheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. All Michigan patriots who know the dangers of vaccines and want to stand up to medically tyranny need to be there.
It is clear that Americans in Michigan who did not vote for Biden are eager for him to make a trip to their state. However, halting work at such an early hour of the day only fuels many Americans’ suspicion that Biden is not adequately prepared for holding the highest office in the land, and that the workload of Vice President Harris will run similarly to that of Dick Cheney under former President George W. Bush.
This is not the first time that Biden has skipped out on planned events amid snowy weather conditions. Earlier this month, he postponed a foreign policy speech at the State Department after DC had experienced two inches of snow.
