President Joe Biden’s attempt to bribe Americans into voting Democrat in the 2022 midterms is failing.

While Biden and Democrats worked feverishly to ensure that the federal government would line the pockets of American families via $300 checks for each child, new polling from Politico and the Morning Consult suggests that less than half (47 percent) of Americans are attributing the dollars to Democrats. Only 38 percent of those polled credited Biden for giving them monthly cash. That’s the same percentage of respondents who oppose expanded and prolonged payments.

Democrats first ran advertisements starting in July that framed the child tax credit program as a gift to the middle class from the administration and its allies in Congress.

“We are making sure Americans know this contrast is clear,” Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison said in a statement. “While Republicans continue to play games and block efforts to improve the lives of working people, Democrats are delivering for you.”

While at least half of respondents said they would support more payments from the government, only 35 percent seemed to support a permanent monthly cash flow. Politico noted in its Wednesday “Playbook” that permanent payments are an “idea Democrats in Congress are weighing at the moment” because “the payments are set to expire next year.”

Republicans are already gearing up to target the 11-plus potentially vulnerable Democrats seeking re-election in 2022. The National Republican Congressional Committee already launched several advertisement campaigns calling attention to the Democrat Party’s willful ignorance of the nation’s rising inflation. Democrat Reps. Tom O’Halleran of Arizona, Josh Harder of California, Ed Perlmutter of Colorado, Carolyn Bourdeaux of Georgia, Cindy Axne of Iowa, Elissa Slotkin and Haley Stevens of Michigan, Peter DeFazio of Oregon, Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, Vicente Gonzalez of Texas, and Elaine Luria of Virginia are the NRCC’s prime focus.
