Top House Republicans are calling for an “immediate investigation” into the presidential election. Ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Oversight Committee ranking member James Comer (R-Ky.) requested the probe in a letter to congressional leaders on Wednesday.
The two ranking Republicans urged committee chairs Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) to examine the integrity of the 2020 election. They went on to call for hearings on the matter, while citing reports of voting irregularities and election errors or misconduct.

Since November 3, 2020, Rep. Jordan has repeatedly called for a thorough probe and even suggested back in August that Democrats wanted “chaos” surrounding the election.
Congress must investigate the integrity of the 2020 election.
Why don’t Democrats agree?

After questioning the legitimacy of the 2016 results and allegations of Russian collusion, Jordan and Comer said the committee’s owe this investigation to the American people.
In their letter, the two noted they warned of potential risks to election-related errors. Specifically, with a September report stating last-minute changes to state law or procedures would undermine the electoral process overall.
Meanwhile, it remains unclear whether Nadler or Maloney will hold the requested hearings.
