Way’ 1

WASHINGTON—Alyssa Takes runs a New Jersey for Trump page on social media, and she’s heard from people all over the world in the aftermath of the presidential election, hoping to see America prevail.

“I’ve heard from Scotland, I’ve heard from England, I’ve heard from Australia, all on our page, people watching our lives, and they’re saying, we’re watching you because Western Civilization is under attack right now and we need to save our Christianity and our civilization,” she said at a one of the several rallies taking place in the nation’s capital on Dec. 12, 2020.

Thousands gathered to join marches and rallies in Washington on Dec. 12, 2020, petitioning the government for fair elections and transparent counting. Similar grassroots protests took place every Saturday since the general election in capitals across the 50 states.

“It’s important for us to be here because we’re fighting for our country and we’re fighting for the entire world right now,” Takes said.

Many were disappointed by the Supreme Court’s rejection of a lawsuit Texas filed against four other states stating their elections were run in an unconstitutional manner. But Takes said she expected it, because the nation was founded on state’s rights, and it didn’t seem like the Supreme Court would want to risk overstepping on state’s rights. Still, she has hope, and there are other avenues for resolution, such as in Congress. There is also work to be done on the local level for citizens, she added.

“Trump actually already won the election, we have a lot of obstruction of justice, we have a lot of obstruction of our election process, and I do believe President Trump will be in office on January 21,” Takes said. As for New Jersey, she and other grassroots organizers are trying to get good people into local office, and “make [New Jersey] red and keep it red.”
