The People’s Party of Canada, a third party formed to challenge the left-leaning Conservative Party from the right, has officially received over 1 million votes, garnering 5% of the popular vote in the country. This comes as the Conservative Party’s leader, Erin O’Toole, has embraced virtually all of Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s COVID-19 policies, and his globalist policies toward global climate change and multiculturalism.
While many Canadian news organizations expected the People’s Party of Canada to again receive less than 2% of the vote, as it did in the last election, at press the PPC has defied expectations and received over 1 million votes, representing 5% of the Canadian electorate. Party leader Maxime Bernier, a staunch opponent of authoritarian COVID-19 policies and vaccine passports who was arrested earlier this year for attempting to campaign during a lockdown, struck a celebratory tone in a speech delivered moments ago.
“They have to start paying attention,” Bernier bellowed, as a man in the crowd shouted, “We love you!” Bernier continued, “Everywhere we looked you could see purple, a purple wave, a sea of purple. My friends, this is not just a political party, it is a movement, it is an ideological revolution that we are starting now.”

“Today, over a million Canadians said they’ve had enough. Enough of this COVID hysteria, enough of the flattening our rights and freedoms, enough of the massive spending, deficit, and government overreaching. Enough of the lies of the establishment politicians,” Bernier added, “Like me, they are mad, they are mad, they want to have their normal lives back.”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberals appear to have secured a third mandate from the Canadian voters, though it appears his party will have less seats than prior to the election, which Trudeau called to justify further restrictive COVID-19 policies, including a nationwide vaccine passport similar to those seen in Italy, France, and Israel. In addition to the Conservative Party picking up ridings, other left wing parties appear to have successfully challenged Trudeau from the progressive left.
