Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley (R) is running for a historic eighth term and has received the most coveted endorsement in Republican politics.

At his “Save America Rally” in Des Moines Saturday night, 45th President Donald Trump gave the 88-year-old senator his official endorsement. Trump pointed out that Grassley has always served conservative interests in the Senate, especially while Trump was occupying the Oval Office.

He called Grassley a young, fit guy who’s prepared to take on another six years, even as the oldest member currently serving in the body.

“He’s young, very young guy. He’s strong and he’s very handsome,” said Trump to those in attendance. “He fights like no other. I’m thrilled to announce tonight Senator Chuck Grassley has my complete and total endorsement for re-election.”

If Grassley wins and finishes his eighth term in full, he will be 95-years old and have the third longest Senate career of any American.
