The race for Texas’ Sixth Congressional District has entered the homestretch and the biggest face in the Republican Party has weighed in. In a statement released on Monday, President Doanld Trump threw his support behind Susan Wright while reminding Texans about the race to replace Wright’s deceased husband Ron Wright.

“Susan will carry on his legacy and stand up to the radical left and fight for our America First agenda because it’s about America First opposed to America last,” he stated.

A super PAC linked to Trump is also making a big ad buy in support of Wright. The Make America Great Again Action PAC reportedly spent $100,000 on an ad push backing Wright who is facing off against fellow Republican Jake Ellzey.

The 45th president has also recorded a robocall urging voters to come out on Election Day. Trump went on to say that Wright will live up to promises he made while in office and will help the people of Texas’ Sixth Congressional District.

In the final polls before the election, Wright was leading her opponent Jake Ellzey by 10 points.
