According to Rasmussen Reports, two-thirds of Republicans believe that teaching Critical Race Theory (CRT) at schools will generate even more racial tensions. In the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey, 43% of Likely US voters believe that the use of Critical Race Theory in the the classroom,
Just 24% believe that teaching CRT will improve relations. Additionally, 17% are of the view that CRT instruction in the classroom will have little impact on race relations and 16% are unsure. Christopher Rufo, a research fellow at the Manhattan Institute, argues that Critical Race Theory is “built on the intellectual framework of identity-based Marxism.”
There has been a growing grassroots resistance movement against CRT among parents in many localities nationwide. Some states like Idaho have even gone as far as to ban Critical Race Theory from being taught at schools.
67% of Republican voters are of the view that making CRT a part of public school curricula will worsen race relations in America. On the other hand, 18% of Democrats and 48% of independent voters believe that teaching CRT will make race relations worse.
43% of Democrats believe that teaching CRT in public schools will improve race relations, however, only 11% of Republicans and 13% independent voters share the same view.
Older voters tend to be more opposed to CRT. At least 50% of Americans ages 40 to 64 are opposed to CRT. Similarly, 47% of Americans ages 65 and older believe that featuring CRT in public school curricula will cause a deterioration in race relations.
By contrast, only 32% of voters under the age of 40 believe that teaching CRT will lead to heightened racial tensions, while 28% believe that it will improve race relations and 22% believe it will not have an impact.
21% of whites think that featuring Critical Race Theory in public school curricula will improve race relations. 38% of black voters and 22% of other minorities hold similar views. 45% of whites and other minorities are of the belief that teaching CRT will lead to worse relations, whereas 32% of black voters are in agreement.
Twenty-one percent (21%) of whites think teaching Critical Race Theory in public schools will make race relations better, as do 38% of black voters and 22% of other minorities. Forty-five percent (45%) of whites and other minorities believe teaching CRT will make race relations worse, and 32% of black voters agree.
CRT is a major threat to the social fabric of the US. It’s a direct affront to the principles of classical liberalism and Individualism that the US was founded on and, as such, will be the intellectual justification for harsh redistributionist measures and active discrimination levied against disfavored identities .
Republican state legislatures should be working fast to prohibit the adoption of this theory in school curricula. What’s more, they should be proactive in promoting alternatives like homeschooling and traditional, religious private schools that are not susceptible to being subverted by noxious leftist ideas.
