electoral college vote, calls him a ‘sore loser’ 1

WASHINGTON, DC- When are these businesses going to learn? You don’t want to piss off 75 million people just to score cheap political points. And Walmart is about to find out that taking sides in a presidential election, especially one so contentious, is not a good business practice.

Breitbart reported that on Wednesday, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) said that due to overwhelming evidence of possible voter fraud in the presidential election that he would object to certifying the electoral college results on January 6. Hawley joined a number of House Republicans in saying that he would do so.

“Millions of voters concerned about election integrity deserve to be heard. I will object on January 6 on their behalf,” Hawley wrote in a tweet.

After which, Walmart, from their corporate account replied, “Go ahead. Get your 2-hour debate,” and added the hashtag #soreloser.

Shortly afterward, Hawley snapped back at Walmart and it was beautiful.

“Thanks @Walmart for your insulting condescension. Now that you’ve insulted 75 million Americans, will you at least apologize for using slave labor?” Boom!

He continued:

“Or maybe you’d like to apologize for the pathetic wages you pay your workers as you drive mom and pop stores out of business.”

In that last slam, Hawley was likely referring to Walmart relying on cheap Chinese factory workers in order to keep its prices low.

In addition to Sen. Hawley, his chief of staff also quoted Walmart’s tweet, writing, “Hi @Walmart. Can you explain this one?”

Walmart of course tried to cover its ass hours later, writing to Hawley:

“The tweet published earlier was mistakenly [emphasis added] posted by a member of our social media team. We deleted the post and have no intention of commenting on the subject of certifying the electoral college. We apologize to Senator Hawley for this error and any confusion about our position.”

Mistakenly?? Please. Someone doesn’t “mistakenly” quote a tweet and then respond in a manner intended to inflame.

The tweet was clearly intentional, probably written by Walmart’s social media team, no doubt a twenty-something snowflake working from home in momma’s basement while snacking on Hot Pockets.

Shortly after the tweet went public, the hashtag #BoycottWalmart started to trend.

In reference to Hawley’s comment about “slave labor,” OANN’s Jack Posobiec pointed out that according the American Manufacturing Alliance, Chinese suppliers account for between 70 to 80 percent of Walmart’s merchandise, with less than 20 percent being American-made products.

The Daily Caller said that Hawley’s objections to the electoral college results, aside from possible voting irregularities, also center around interference of so-called “mega corporations” such as Facebook and Twitter, whose management staff overwhelmingly favored Biden and who contributed a lot of campaign cash to him.

In his statement announcing his intention to challenge the certification, Hawley said:

“I cannot vote to certify the electoral college results on January 6 without raising the fact that some states, particularly Pennsylvania, failed to follow their own state election laws,” he said.

“And I cannot vote to certify without pointing out the unprecedented effort of mega corporations, including Facebook and Twitter, to interfere in this election, in support of Joe Biden. At the very least, Congress should investigate allegations of voter fraud and adopt measures to secure the integrity of our elections. But Congress has so far failed to act.”

The Daily Caller reached out to Walmart, who said:

“The tweet was mistakenly posted by a member of our social media team who intended to publish this comment on their personal account,” Walmart said, continuing, “We have removed the post and have no intention of commenting on the subject of certifying the electoral college. We apologized to Senator Hawley for this error and any confusion about our position.”

National File said Walmart offered them the same explanation as above and did not state whether or not the individual responsible for posting the tweet will face any discipline or other repercussions.

One Twitter user in seeking the boycott responded:

“This is absolutely insane. Walmart being overtly political and calling Senator Josh Hawley a ‘sore loser’ for being concerned about election integrity. Good to know which side they are on! #BoycottWalmart”

Yet another:

“Wow! I will never shop at Walmart again! #BoycottWalmart”

Poor Sam Walton. He must be rolling in his grave right now.
