SACRAMENTO, CA – Black Lives Matter has suspended online fundraising after California’s Attorney General sent the organization a delinquency notice for failing to submit financial reports, and threatened to hold its leaders personally liable for late fees.

According to the Washington Examiner, the state of Washington had already given notice to BLM on January 5, 2022, to “‘immediately cease’  all fundraising activities in the state.”

Then on January 31, 2022, California Attorney General Rob Bonta sent Black Lives Matter a “Delinquency Notice and Warning of Assessment of Penalties and Late Fees, and Suspension or Revocation of Registered Status.”

In this document, AG Bonta declared that Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, Inc. (BLMGNF) was delinquent with the “Registry of Charitable Trusts for failing to submit required annual report(s).”  As such, the document stated, BLMGNF was prohibited from “soliciting or disbursing charitable funds.”

The document went on to state that BLMGNF’s ability to resume solicitation of funds was contingent upon submission of their 2020 Form 990 and other financial documents, and the organization would also be subject to late fees for each month or partial month of delinquency.

The letter added:

“PLEASE NOTE: Charitable assets cannot be used to pay these avoidable costs.

“Accordingly, directors, trustees, officers and return preparers responsible for failure to timely file the above-described report(s) are personally liable for payment of all penalties, interest and other costs incurred to restore exempt status.”

BLMGNF was given 60 days to submit all delinquent reports.

As for the responsible parties who might be personally liable for late fees and penalties, right now it is not clear who, exactly, is in charge at BLM.

According to the New York Post, BLM has approximately $60 million on hand.

However, according to an investigation by the Washington Examiner, it is uncertain who is actually at the helm, in control of these massive funds.

As we previously reported, BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors resigned in May 2021 after intense scrutiny of her personal finances, including a multi-million dollar real estate spending spree.

The Washington Examiner reports that Cullors appointed two activists, Makani Themba and Monifa Bandele to succeed her, but:

“both quietly announced in September that they never took the jobs due to disagreements with BLM.

“They told the Washington Examiner they don’t know who now leads the nation’s most influential social justice organization.”

Themba tweeted in September 2021:

“Although a media advisory was released indicating that we were tapped to play the role of Senior Co-Executives at BLMGNF, we were not able to come to an agreement with the acting Leadership Council about our scope of work and authority.

“As a result, we did not have the opportunity to serve in this capacity.”

Investigators from the Washington Examiner were unable to learn from Themba and Bandele  anything about who became BLM’s top executive, nor who was on the council.

In addition, the Examiner notes:

“The two remaining BLM board members, Shalomyah Bowers and Raymond Howard, did not return numerous requests for comment asking who has been in charge of BLM and its money since Cullors left the charity in May.”

The Washington Examiner reports that as of Wednesday, February 2, the unknown leadership at BLMGNF shut down all online fundraising.

At this writing, there is no “donate” button on the Black Lives Matter website.

An “unidentified spokesperson” for the BLMGNF told the Examiner regarding the delinquency notice:

“We take these matters seriously and have taken immediate action.”

The spokesperson added:

“We have immediately engaged compliance counsel to address any issues related to state fundraising compliance.

“In the interim, we have shut down online fundraising as we work quickly to ensure we are meeting all compliance requirements.”

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita spoke with the Examiner about BLMGNF’s suspicious activity in terms of its lack of transparency on issues of finances and leadership.

He said:

“It appears that the house of cards may be falling, and this happens eventually with nearly every scam, scheme, or illegal enterprise.”

Rokita added:

“I see patterns that scams kind of universally take: failure to provide board members, failure to provide even executive directors, failure to make your filings available.

“It all leads to suspicion.”

CharityWatch Executive Director Laurie Styron told the Washington Examiner that BLM is:

“Like a giant ghost ship full of treasure drifting in the night with no captain, no discernible crew, and no clear direction.”

Ivy League professor claims BLM and the media have blood on their hands for demonizing police

Originally published January 29, 2022

PROVIDENCE, RI – An Ivy League professor is making waves after calling out members of BLM and the media for allegedly having the blood of minorities on their hands for demonizing police officers nationwide.

What is most surprising in this claim is that the professor himself is a minority.

Glenn Loury is well known in academic circles as well as the minority community since he is not only an established economics professor, but he was also the first black person to become tenured at Harvard University.

He is also the host of his own vlog titled, “The Glenn Show” where he is not the least bit afraid of speaking his mind.

On a recent segment of his vlog, Loury had Heather Mac Donald, a fellow at the Manhattan Institute and one of the foremost statisticians on crime, on for his show discussing the Black Lives Matter and defunding the police movement.

During the segment, Loury unleashed his opinion on the matter which he accused of endangering black lives. He said:

“The successful delegitimization of law enforcement in the places where poor black people are being victimized daily has cost thousands of lives and has been a monumental political crime. That’s the argument we’re making this week at TGS.”

Loury then doubled down on his statement that the defund the police movement has literally cost “thousands” of lives. He said:

“The attack on cops and on policing, the delegitimation of the agents of the state charged with the unenviable responsibility of maintaining order in our metropolises, has cost thousands of lives.”

Loury’s stance is that the Black Lives Matter Movement, which was widely reported on by the mainstream media, sparked people to no longer respect the law nor fear consequences of committing crimes.

It’s a move that undoubtedly, yet unverifiable, caused thousands of police officers to leave the profession out of fear of being demonized for doing their job. Loury said:

“The people who have undertaken and fomented this attack from the Black Lives Matter activists to their handmaidens in editorial rooms all over this country have buckets of blood on their hands.

They hide behind the consensus endorsed by everybody from the human resource department assistant or vice president at a Fortune 500 company to a university president.

“We’ve given ideological cover to this crime: the delegitimation of the maintenance of order in places where black people live has cost thousands of lives, and it’s a political crime.”

Mac Donald, who wholeheartedly agrees with Loury, noted that she has difficulty understanding why others do not understand this concept. She rhetorically asked:

“I thought black lives matter?”

She then added:

“I literally cannot understand it.

I mean I, I think the left has the two of the its biggest hypocrisies…and those that are utterly unable to be squared with the facts is its claim to care about black lives matter and its claim that America is systemically oppressive to people of color…at the same time that not only people of color from across the world are beating down the doors to get into this country…but the left is saying that we should lower any kind of border controls to get them in.

“Those are mutually exclusive positions, you cannot at the one hand say that this is the most racist country at this moment again…it also utterly stunning to me that the left gets to say that it is the, the one entity that cares about black lives mattering when it is utterly silent about the black children who have been killed brutally…since the George Floyd riots.

And that’s not accounting for those that have been killed before that.”

Mac Donald then makes a glaring controversial claim…if all the black children that have been murdered since the death of George Floyd were white…there would be a national outcry.

Mac Donald provided a list of numerous black children that have been murdered and said:

“Now, if those were white children, there would have been a national revolution. The media would be all over it.

How the media gets away with this crap of presenting itself as…as…warriors for racial justice when they are clearly indifferent to black lives unless a black person is killed by a white cop is beyond me.”
