Witthoeft received a massive round of applause as she and a family friend held signs commemorating her slain daughter at the TPUSA Chapter Leadership Summit in Phoenix, Arizona.

Since her death at the hands of a Capitol Hill police officer, Ashli Babbitt’s death has become a lightning rod issue for those calling for transparent investigations into potential federal involvement into January 6, and a key issue for Republicans who believe the 2020 election was stolen from President Donald Trump through credible reports of widespread voter fraud. Recently, independent journalist Tayler Hansen identified Babbitt’s shooter as Capitol Hill Police Lieutenant Michael Leroy Byrd. Then, the Capitol Hill Sergeant At Arms seemed to accidentally confirm this while testifying in the House of Representatives. “We’re in close contact. The situation where you discussed where officer Byrd was at the door when Ms. Babbitt was shot. It was our sergeant at arms employee who rendered age to her,” said Blodgett.

President Donald Trump, who is scheduled to speak at the same event later today, recently weighed in on Babbitt’s death for the first time at his first major rally since leaving the White House. “Who shot Ashli Babbitt? We all saw the hand, we saw the gun,” said President Trump, who then revealed, “I spoke to her mother the other day, an incredible woman, she’s just devastated, like it happened yesterday, devastated.”
President Trump added, “You know, if that were on the other side, the person that did the shooting would be strung up and hung. Now they don’t want to give the name, they don’t want to give, but people know the name, people know where he came from, and it’s a terrible thing. Right, shot, boom, there was no reason for it. Who shot Ashli Babbitt? It’s got to be released.”

President Trump then mentioned Babbitt days later at a media event where he announced his intentions to sue big tech giants over censorship. “There were no guns in the Capitol, except for the gun that shot Ashli Babbitt, and nobody knows who that man were,” said President Trump, who first slammed what many believe to be the politically motivated prosecution of hundreds of January 6 protesters.
The 45th President then added, “If it were the opposite way, that man would be all over, he would be the most well-known, and I believe I can say man, because I believe I know exactly who it is, but he would be the the most well-known person in this country, in the world,” Trump continued, “but the person that shot Ashli Babbit, boom, right through the head. There was no reason for that, and why isn’t that person being opened up, and why isn’t that being studied? They’ve already written it off, they say that that case is closed. if that were the opposite, that case would be going on for years and years, and it would not be pretty.”

Since the Biden administration has found no wrongdoing in the death of Ashli Babbitt, the Babbitt family has announced its intention to file a civil lawsuit against the secretive police force to seek the formal disclosure of the name of Babbitt’s killer, and monetary compensation for the death of the 35-year-old Air Force veteran who served her country for 14 years.
