California’s Newsom Stages Photo Op Cleaning Up Homeless
Camp Before Recall 1

California Governor Gavin Newsom showed up at a homeless encampment in San Francisco’s Mission last week, staging a photo op intended to deter widespread dissatisfaction with the crisis of homelessness in the state.

As part of the photo op, Newsom briefly picked up a push broom, sweeping the dirt and rubbish surrounding the tent encampment. Newsom is facing the prospect of a gubernatorial recall in September, in which Republican contender Larry Elder is running closely behind the incumbent Democrat in the polls.

Kelly Cutler, a San Francisco organizer working with the homeless, pointed to Newsom’s stunt as a campaign photo op. “It’s a dog and pony show… They may have pulled some extra resources specifically for this. It’s a photo op.

Almost half of the total population of homeless people in the United States live in California, with Los Angeles “home” for the largest amount of homeless people on the North American continent. The state’s oligarchal economic model has been blamed for mass homelessness, with constantly increasing costs of living driving out the middle class, in addition to policies of tolerance for drug use, criminality, and antisocial behavior in public places.

In spite of wide-ranging “health” tyranny, California has incurred one of the worst coronavirus outbreaks in the country. Widespread dissatisfaction with Newsom’s elite Democrat form of governance has led to the popularity of the recall, with even liberals sick of the hypocrite’s poor leadership and inability to solve the state’s numerous problems.

California voters will vote on the recall proposition on September 14th.
