Chinese telecom giant Huawei, which was charged by the Trump administration Department of Justice with violating the RICO act in February 2020, has hired former Democrat “super lobbyist” Tony Podesta to the position of “consultant” this week.

According to Politico, Podesta will “aim to help the controversial Chinese telecom giant warm relations with the Biden administration,” and “work to advance a variety of the company’s goals in Washington, according to one of the people.” Huawei was subjected to several crippling punitive restrictions under the Trump administration.

Politico noted that Podesta has previously worked with the “China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF),” which had a funding offer rejected by University of Texas at Austin in 2018 due to concerns about the foundation’s links to the Chinese Communist Party.

Tony Podesta’s brother John famously served as the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential campaign in 2020, and as National File’s Patrick Howley reported in January 2020, John Podesta served on the Advisory Council of the Alliance For Securing Democracy, which was linked to various anti-Trump media initiatives:

The group’s Advisory Council includes former Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol, Hillary Clinton campaign boss John Podesta, Bush Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff, John McCain operative David Kramer (who infamously circulated the discredited anti-Trump Christopher Steele dossier in the nation’s capital), Obama’s Russia ambassador Mike McFaul, and Hillary Clinton’s State Department deputy chief of staff Jake Sullivan (who testified that he used non-secure email along with Clinton), in addition to various other statist Intel-World radicals and former government officials.

Democrat president Joe Biden recently refused to comment on the CCP’s treatment of Uyghurs because “culturally, there are different norms.”
