California Governor Gavin Newsom on Tuesday evening announced a new Covid booster shot mandate for healthcare workers.
“California will require healthcare workers to get their booster.” Newsom said in a tweet on Tuesday.
“With Omicron on the rise, we’re taking immediate actions to protect Californians and ensure our hospitals are prepared,” he added.
Newsom will be making the official announcement on Wednesday morning.
BREAKING: California will require healthcare workers to get their booster.
With Omicron on the rise, we’re taking immediate actions to protect Californians and ensure our hospitals are prepared.

Newsom previously announced California will require healthcare workers to be ‘fully vaccinated’ for Covid-19 by September 30th.
Now the definition of ‘fully vaccinated’ has changed so all of the healthcare workers who got their jabs are considered unvaxxed.
Nurses and healthcare workers were hailed as heroes last year as they worked long hours to take care of Covid patients – They worked nearly the entire year without Covid vaccines.
