Prominent conservative radio talk show host Larry Elder has considered taking legal action after he was excluded from California’s gubernatorial recall election. Over the weekend, the state released a list of 41 candidates who qualified for the race. The list did not include Elder.
The Republican said he received a letter from California’s secretary of state, which said he did not qualify because of “incomplete redacted and unredacted income tax returns”. In a tweet on Sunday, Elder said his campaign submitted over 200 pages of tax returns and met all requirements to be a candidate.
The Secretary of State spent the weekend talking to one reporter after another, telling them that candidates who did not qualify had been notified. They did not bother to contact my campaign until late Sunday afternoon, via email to my campaign manager.

Elder went on to say he may file a lawsuit if the secretary of state doesn’t reverse her decision.
